A shooting on Hooper Street Tuesday afternoon injured one small child and one other individual.
According to Meridian Police Department Chief Deborah Naylor-Young, the shooting happened around 3:30 p.m.
Officers were called to the 200 block of 45th Avenue. When officers arrived on scene, two victims had already been transported to a local hospital by private vehicle.
One small child has been airlifted to Jackson.
One person was taken into custody and is being questioned at the Meridian Police Department.
