CLARKE COUNTY, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – The victim of a fatal accident early this morning in Pachuta has been identified as Michael Harris.
Sheriff Anthony Chancelor confirmed to Clarke County Hot Topics that Harris was found in a small ditch on Walnut Street. The accident was reported around 4:30 a.m. when authorities responded to a car found in the ditch. It appears Harris had exited his vehicle and fell into the ditch, which contained about six inches of water.
Emergency responders pulled Harris from the water and rushed him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
The Clarke County Sheriff’s Department has indicated that no foul play is suspected and is continuing to investigate the circumstances of the incident.
The department expressed its condolences to the Harris family during this difficult time.
