LAUDERDALE COUNTY, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – Northern Valley Road residents are being asked to shelter-in-place after an Atmos gas line was punctured by a falling tree limb.
According to LEMA Director Odie Barrett, the natural gas leak is happening in the 2600 block of Valley Road.
Barrett said this spill specifically affects residents in the mobile home park of that area.
Crews are on-scene now trying to get the spill under control.
Residents are being advised to not start their vehicles, light gas fixtures, or light matches until the leak is stopped.
Drivers are being asked to plan alternate travel routes until further notice.
