MERIDIAN, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – It was a packed house Tuesday at the Meridian Public Library as they hosted their “Hattiesburg Visits the Zoo” event at 11 am.
During the event, local children and their families were able to see and learn about multiple animals, including a blue-tongued skinks, a hedgehog, and even a gopher tortoise.
Program Coordinator Elizabeth Jolly said she’s never seen a turnout like this one.
“In the four years that I’ve been working here, this is the largest crows I’ve ever seen for any of our programs except for like our Santa’s Workshop, Spring Shin-dig, but in the building itself, this is the largest I’ve ever seen,” stated Jolly. “I hope that they also utilize the resources that the library offers and the programs that we offer as well.”
The turnout was so great, the Library had to host a second show at 11:45 to accommodate everyone.
