MERIDIAN, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – One person is arrested after officers served a search warrant in the 500 block of 52nd Avenue in Meridian Sunday morning.
Detective Chanetta Stevens with the Meridian Police Department said the arrest was for an unrelated charge; however after serving the search warrant officers seized “a stolen firearm, some drugs, and other items.”
Stevens said this was a collaborative effort between the Meridian Police Department, MPD Gang Unit, MPD SWAT Team, MPD CID, Lauderdale County SWAT, East MS Drug Task Force, and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics.
“We appreciate the citizens for wanting to take your community back,” said Stevens.
This is an on-going investigation.
