CLARKE COUNTY, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – A tragic accident claimed the life of 76-year-old Francis Lamar Moss from Enterprise on Saturday morning, according to WTOK.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol reports that the collision occurred at approximately 10:58 AM on Highway 45, at its intersection with County Road 680.
According to authorities, an ambulance from Wayne General Hospital was traveling northbound on Highway 45 when it collided with a Kia Forte heading west on County Road 680. The Kia Forte was attempting to cross Highway 45 at the time of the crash.
Emergency responders transported Moss to Watkins Hospital in Quitman, where he was pronounced dead. The two ambulance staff members were taken to Wayne General Hospital for observation but are expected to recover.
The patient who was being transported by the ambulance was subsequently transferred to Baptist Anderson in Meridian.
The incident remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
