Meridian Museum of Art Announces Fall 2024 After-School Art Classes

MERIDIAN, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – The Meridian Museum of Art is set to enhance the creative landscape for local youth with its new after-school art classes starting this fall. The classes will run from September 5 to November 21, taking place every Thursday from 4 to 5 p.m.

Designed to meet the increasing demand for quality art instruction, these sessions will offer progressive, skill-based lessons in a studio setting. Each week, students will be guided by a highly qualified art instructor through a variety of artistic disciplines, including drawing, painting, and multi-media. The twelve-week sessions are set to build students’ skill levels and will be available both in the fall and spring.

The museum’s after-school program aims to not only foster artistic skills but also to enhance learning in core subjects such as reading, writing, and arithmetic. The engaging environment of the arts is intended to provide excitement and vibrancy, particularly during the after-school hours. Artistic expression is recognized as a crucial component of personal development, offering students a valuable opportunity to explore their creativity.

Registration for the fall classes is now open. Interested families can sign up through the Meridian Museum of Art’s website: http://meridianmuseum.org/youth-classes/
