MERIDIAN, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – Coroner Stella McMahan confirms that Marquel Holcombe, 32, died from injuries sustained in a shooting on Monday in Meridian.
Sgt. Dareall Thompson with the Meridian Police Department said police responded to a call at the intersection of 40th Avenue and Paulding Street around 2:00 a.m. Monday morning.
Once on-scene, officers discovered a male subject (Holcombe) with a gunshot wound.
The victim was transported to a local hospital and then later airlifted to a hospital in Jackson.
MPD’s Violent Crime Unit is working the investigation.
