MERIDIAN, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) -Magnolia Middle School will start Phase 1 of its construction project on Monday, August 26, 2024, which will alter both the appearance and functionality of the campus.
Starting Monday, all visitors to the school must enter through Grandview Avenue, turning onto 26th Street at the Parkview Elementary School sign.
This phase also involves a re-routing of the car rider line. Parents dropping off students should turn off Grandview Avenue onto 26th Street and proceed to 12th Avenue for drop-off. This route will also be used for afternoon pick-ups.
There will be no changes to dismissal times or procedures for students who walk or ride the bus.
Drivers are urged to exercise caution, be alert to school buses and pedestrians, and adhere to the directions provided by signs, cones, and school staff.
These new procedures will remain in place for the rest of the 2024-2025 school year. Phase 1 of the construction is expected to be completed by July 2025.
The project is part of a $34 million No-Tax Increase Bond approved in August 2022.
