MERIDIAN, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – The Salvation Army is calling on the community to support its Client Choice Marketplace by donating essential food items. Organizers are currently seeking contributions of green beans, corn, sweet peas, canned fruits, cereal, peanut butter, and grits to stock the shelves and assist local families in need.
The Client Choice Marketplace, which recently replaced the traditional food pantry model, offers a more empowering shopping experience for Salvation Army clients. Clients now have the opportunity to select their groceries, including fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, and pastries, based on their family size and individual needs.
The marketplace model aims to foster a sense of community and support while addressing food insecurity. By donating the requested items, residents can help ensure that families in the Meridian area have access to nutritious food options.
Donations can be dropped off at the Salvation Army location in Meridian at 1115 25th Avenue
Meridian, MS 39301 or call (601) 483-6156.
