CLARKE COUNTY, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – One person is injured and another is in custody after an alleged shooting on County Road 1411 in Clarke County Friday. Police received a 911 call around 8:20 p.m. reporting a male victim shot in the area. Clarke County Deputies, with assistance from the Quitman Police Department, responded to the scene.
The victim was located behind a trailer home and transported to a local hospital for treatment. The nature of the victim’s injuries has not been disclosed.
As of 8:30 a.m. Saturday, one person has been detained and taken to the Clarke County Jail in connection with the shooting. Specific details regarding the detention and the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear.
Sheriff Chancelor stated that further updates will be provided as information becomes available from him and his investigators. The investigation is ongoing.
