LAUDERDALE COUNTY, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – As the November 5, 2024, election approaches, all 82 Circuit Clerks are urging voters to check their calendars and ensure they can vote in their precincts. With vacations, conferences, and medical appointments scheduled during this time, voters are encouraged to make their voting plans early.

Professionals who may find it beneficial to vote absentee include truck drivers, shift workers, railroad employees, and those commuting daily to facilities like Nissan.

College students are also reminded that their varied Fall Break schedules may impact their ability to vote. They should take advantage of opportunities to vote while they are in town.

To assist voters, all Circuit Clerk offices will open this Saturday, October 26, from 8 a.m. to noon. This extended hours offer an alternative for those unable to visit during the standard weekday hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Voters aged 65 and older are encouraged to visit their precinct locations. With the switch from touch screens to paper, scannable ballots, voters can expect a smoother experience with shorter wait times. Additionally, this new method allows voters to correct any mistakes directly on their ballots.

For those wishing to vote absentee, Lauderdale County’s Circuit Clerk office remains at the old Courthouse located at 500 Constitution Ave. Voters with questions can reach the office at 601-482-9731.
