MERIDIAN, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – Jason Evert, speaker and founder of the Chastity Project, will present a special double-feature event at St. Patrick Catholic Church on November 20, 2024. The event, titled Purity and the Theology of Your Body, will include two of Evert’s impactful talks: Purified and Gender & the Theology of Your Body.
This family-focused event, which is open to parents, teens, and all adults, will explore essential topics surrounding what the church believes is God’s plan for love, as well as the deeper meanings of sex, gender, and the human body. Attendees will also have an opportunity to participate in prayer and adoration, with the sacrament of Reconciliation available.
The event, scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church (2601 Davis St., Meridian, MS), aims to equip families with the tools and understanding needed to navigate today’s cultural challenges. Each participant will receive free resources designed to help them reflect on how their identity as men and women is revealed through their bodies, as well as how to live a life of purity.
“We are living in a time when the innocence of families, especially young people, is under attack like never before,” said Angela Dove, a spokesperson for the Catholic Community of Meridian. “This event will provide a much-needed opportunity to address difficult but vital issues about sexuality, gender, and the human body in a way that’s grounded in faith.”
The event is part of a wider initiative by the Chastity Project, in partnership with the Jackson Diocese, to help parishes and families face the mounting challenges of modern culture. These challenges include the widespread consumption of pornography, the increasing confusion surrounding masculinity and femininity, and the rising rates of sexually transmitted diseases.
