LAUDERDALE COUNTY, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – A female was treated for a minor gunshot wound following a shooting early Tuesday morning in the 900 block of Powell Road. The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call at 12:55 a.m. reporting a disturbance and a possible shooting at the location.
According to Sheriff Ward Calhoun, deputies had previously responded to the same address about an hour and a half earlier regarding a disturbance complaint. When they arrived after the second call, the alleged shooter had already left the scene.
Metro Ambulance treated the female victim for a graze wound to her leg, but she declined additional medical treatment. Deputies searched the area for the suspect but were unable to locate him.
