MERIDIAN, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – This week is the final push for the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program.
Since 1979, the Angel Tree program has paired generous community members with children and elderly individuals who are in need, offering a unique opportunity to provide gifts and support during the holiday season.
Citizen’s National Bank has supported the Angel Tree program for over 25 years, bank representatives say there are just a few more angels that need to be adopted before this week’s deadline.
“The deadline for the Angel Tree, to bring in your unwrapped gifts will be December the 6th, and we have a few more angels left on our tree. Some of the kids are just wanting bikes, or they are just wanting their favorite super hero. So, we would like for you all to just come down and choose an angel off of our tree to make some young child or some little boy, some little girl’s Christmas a very successful Christmas this year,” said Tyeisha Smith, Community Development Officer for Citizen’s National Bank. “You do not have to get everything on their list, but they do have a list of items that they would like to have for Christmas, and we would like to be able to fulfill those wishes for those children.”
“We have about 5 more angels left on our tree, but feel free to go to any of our other locations here in the Meridian area as well as our Philadelphia branches. They do have angels on their trees. So, please open up your hearts as well as your wallets to make the dreams of these young children come true,” said Smith.
The Salvation Army Angel Trees can be found at any Citizen’s National Bank location as well as Uptown Meridian Mall, and any of the Super Walmarts in Meridian, Philadelphia and Newton.
