PHILADELPHIA, Miss. (WTOK) – Chief Eric Lyons has confirmed one person was shot during a shooting that happened in Philadelphia Tuesday evening around 5:50.
The shooting occurred at the Chevron store off of Main Street and Holland Avenue.
Lyons says when officers arrived on the scene, a person had told them a black male was shot and transferred to a local hospital by private vehicle. The victim was shot three times in the leg and arm and was airlifted to UMMC in Jackson and is now in stable condition.
He says the suspect was still on the scene of the shooting and was taken into custody.
The investigation is ongoing, but Lyons believes the shooting is stemming from a feud between both of the families.
