MERIDIAN, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – At 12:45 pm Thursday, January 23rd, 2025 Chad Acton officially filed his statement of intent and paid his qualifying fees to run for City Council in Ward 5. This marks his second run for office, after a narrow defeat four years ago.
“The last four years have highlighted exactly why I ran in the first place. Leadership matters now more than ever,” Acton shared with local media.
A long-time resident of Ward 5, Chad has lived here for 25 years, raised his family here, and spent nearly three decades working with Meridian High School and Lamar School. He says it’s time for change—”I’m tired of seeing local kids lose their lives—whether it’s literally or through incarceration.”
Acton’s top priority? Tackling the crime issue that he says is affecting families across the community.
