MERIDIAN, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – The victim of a fatal shooting Thursday evening in the 300 block of 45th Avenue has been identified as 30-year-old Sanchairus Overstreet, the Meridian Police Department (MPD) confirmed Sunday.
Officers responded to a 911 call reporting gunfire at approximately 4:54 p.m. Thursday. Upon arrival, they found Overstreet suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Overstreet’s family was notified of his death, and his identity was released by authorities after the notification process was completed.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, and police have not disclosed the number of suspects involved or the potential motive behind the crime. MPD is urging anyone with information to come forward as they continue to gather details related to the incident.
