NAS Meridian Hosts Large-Scale Security Exercise as Part of Nationwide Citadel Shield-Solid Curtain Drill

MERIDIAN, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – On Thursday, February 6th, NAS conducted a large-scale drill as part of the Navy-wide Citadel Shield-Solid Curtain (CS-SC25) exercises.

This vital training involved nearly 30 military and civilian personnel from several departments, including Naval Security Forces, Fire and Emergency Services, Emergency Operations Center, Public Affairs, and Safety.
This drill is part of a two-week series of nationwide exercises (Feb. 3-14) aimed at enhancing readiness across all Navy installations.
The first week focuses on Citadel Shield, with Solid Curtain following in the second. While this exercise is not in response to any specific threat, it simulates realistic scenarios such as active shooter situations, unauthorized base access, and IEDs.
These drills are crucial for ensuring the readiness and seamless coordination of Navy security forces and their partners.
