MERIDIAN, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – The City of Meridian has installed new traffic lights at the intersection of 23rd Avenue and 24th Street to improve traffic flow near Magnolia Middle School.
According to Public Works Director David Hodge, the traffic signals will operate during school hours to assist with morning drop-off and afternoon pickup from Monday through Friday. Outside of these times, the light will flash yellow on 23rd Avenue and red on 24th Street.
“Please use extra caution when school is letting in and out,” Hodge said. “School buses will be coming onto and off of 23rd Avenue. Give them plenty of space to turn.”
Drivers in the area are encouraged to remain alert and follow the new traffic signals to ensure safety for students, school staff, and other motorists.
