MERIDIAN, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – The Meridian Public School District (MPSD) is pleased to announce that Amy Grady has been named the new principal of Magnolia Middle School for the 2025-2026 school year. The MPSD Board of Trustees approved her appointment during its monthly school board meeting on Monday, March 24, 2025.

“I look forward to seeing students at Magnolia continue to grow and excel under Mrs. Grady’s leadership,” said Dr. Amy Carter, MPSD Superintendent. “She brings consistency and will continue to be an advocate for the students, teachers, and families of Magnolia Middle School.”

Grady, a seasoned educator, has dedicated her entire career to MPSD, with all of her experience rooted at Magnolia Middle School. She began her educational journey as a substitute teacher after transitioning from a 24-year career in insurance. Over the years, Grady has held various roles, including teacher assistant, teacher, and since 2021, assistant principal. She was named the district’s Teacher of the Year in 2019, further demonstrating her commitment to the success of MPSD students.

The 2025-2026 school year will mark Grady’s 20th year in education. She holds a master’s degree in educational leadership from Arkansas State University and a bachelor’s degree in secondary education from Mississippi State University.

As principal, Grady plans to prioritize academic achievement, enhance school security, and foster strong relationships with families and the community. Her leadership will be instrumental in preparing students for success in college, careers, and beyond.

“I want to take this time to express my sincere gratitude to Dr. Carter and her administrative staff for providing us with this great opportunity,” said Grady. “Our motto at Magnolia is, ‘We are the best and nothing less because excellence begins with me.’ We will continue striving for that excellence while educating our students to become leaders, and we are thankful for the support of all parents and our community, and we welcome their continued support in the future!”

Grady will officially begin her role as principal on July 1, 2025.
