(Queen City Newsfeed)- The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has awarded the Meridian Housing Authority (MHA) $5.4 million in Capital Fund Financing Program (CFFP) funding to support major revitalization efforts at Highway Village, the city’s oldest public housing community.

A groundbreaking ceremony took place on-site at the Highway Village Affordable Housing Complex, located at 506 Front Street, Meridian, Mississippi, this morning at 11:00 a.m. The public is invited to attend.

The project, expected to take one year to complete, will improve housing conditions for residents and accommodate approximately 1,700 people.
