Clarkdale Attendance Center’s 6th Grade Art Exhibit on Display at Meridian Museum of Art

LAUDERDALE COUNTY, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – The Meridian Museum of Art is showcasing the creative talents of 69 sixth-grade students from Clarkdale Attendance Center in the exhibit titled “Elements of Art: An Exploration of Art Through Writing and Research.”

The exhibit features original artwork created by students as part of a project led by Allison Nester, a 6th-grade Writing and Social Studies teacher. Each student researched one of the seven elements of art, developed an original piece, and shared their work in the exhibit. The project was made possible through a mini-grant from the Junior Auxiliary.

The display honors the artists of Asheville’s River Arts District, whose work was lost during Hurricane Helene. The exhibit serves as a tribute to their resilience and artistic spirit.

The exhibit is open to the public at the Meridian Museum of Art, Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will be on display until April 5th.
