Los Angeles, (Queen City Newsfeed)- Jamal Roberts of Meridian delivered a standout performance on American Idol Season 23 with his rendition of “Liar,” a song by Jelly Roll co-written by fellow Meridian native Ben Johnson.
His performance drew strong praise from the judges and caught the attention of Jelly Roll himself, who was impressed by Roberts emotional delivery. The judges recognized his passion and powerful presence on stage.
It was a special moment for Meridian, with not one but two locals — Roberts and Johnson — represented on the Idol stage through music. As the top 20 nears, Roberts has become a local favorite, with all of Meridian rooting for his continued success.
