Meridian Public School District to Host Festival of the Arts at The MAX

MERIDIAN, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed)- The Meridian Public School District is set to celebrate student creativity and expression at its annual Festival of the Arts, scheduled for Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 4 to 8 p.m. at The Mississippi Arts + Entertainment Experience (The MAX). Student performances will begin at 5:30 p.m.

This free community event will spotlight artistic achievements from students across the district, featuring visual art, choir, dance, theater, culinary arts, piano, band, media arts, and more. Exhibits, performances, and demonstrations will showcase the depth of talent throughout Meridian schools.

“We are excited to once again celebrate the diverse talents of our students and to share their hard work and passion with the community,” said Antonio Altman, MPSD District Arts Director. “The Festival of the Arts is an important part of our commitment to arts education and creative expression.”

The event is a collaborative effort between Meridian Public School District, The MAX, and Any Given Child Meridian, organizations working to ensure equitable access to the arts for all local students.

“Inspiring young people to engage in the arts is core to our mission, and incorporating arts into the classroom is a proven strategy to increase attendance and improve academic performance,” said Penny Kemp, President and CEO of The MAX. “We applaud MPSD for their efforts and are honored to highlight these students and their artistic pursuits as we leverage the arts to support educational initiatives and build a stronger community.”
