LAUDERDALE COUNTY, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – The Lauderdale County Road and Bridge Department announced the reopening of Murphy Road and Ponta Hills Road on Thursday, following recent improvement projects.
Murphy Road is now open with a newly paved section. Barricades remain in place on both sides of the roadway to protect the edges of the fresh asphalt until shoulder work is complete. Drivers are advised to use caution when traveling through the area.
Ponta Hills Road has also reopened after a cross pipe replacement. Temporary gravel has been installed for now, with final paving scheduled to take place soon. Motorists should proceed carefully until the work is finished.
The county thanked residents for their patience as crews and contractors continue working to improve road safety and conditions throughout the area.
