CLARKE COUNTY, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – Clarke County authorities confirmed Sunday that two suspects who fled on foot after a vehicle pursuit are now in custody.

According to Clarke County Sheriff Anthony Chancelor, the suspects—a white male wearing a lime green sweater and a white female—were apprehended following an extensive search in the area of County Road 122.

The incident began when the Jones County Sheriff’s Office initiated a pursuit north of Highway 11. The suspects’ vehicle reached a “Bridge Out” location, forcing them to make a sharp turn before coming to a dead end. The pair then abandoned the vehicle and ran into nearby woods.

Local residents were asked to use caution and report any sightings of the individuals, particularly in the County Road 120, 122, 1211, and Mississippi Highway 512 areas. Sheriff Chancelor noted during the search that authorities were uncertain about the suspects’ identities and urged deputies to exercise caution during the operation.

Deputies from Clarke County actively patrolled the area until both individuals were located and taken into custody.

No further details about the suspects or potential charges have been released at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
