Jasper County Man Pleads Guilty in Child Molestation Case, Sentenced to Prison

JASPER COUNTY, Miss. – A Jasper County man has pleaded guilty to lustful touching of a minor and will serve time in the Mississippi Department of Corrections, authorities said Monday.

According to WDAM, John Kimble Morgan, 50, of Paulding, entered a guilty plea to one charge of lustful touching of a minor, foregoing a trial.

According to Jasper County Sheriff Randy Johnson, Morgan will serve three years in the MDOC. Upon his release, he will also be required to register as a sex offender.

Sheriff Johnson stated that the incident was initially reported two years ago when the parents of a 15-year-old girl informed authorities that she had been touched at Morgan’s residence. Morgan’s arrest followed an investigation conducted by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office.

Morgan was previously arrested Monday and charged with lustful touching of a child. Authorities had also confirmed a prior charge against Morgan for “Molesting” on October 23, 2020.

It was not immediately clear when Morgan would begin his sentence.
