LAUDERDALE COUNTY, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – Longtime Lauderdale County Supervisor for District 4, Joe Norwood, is vying to fill the Mississippi House District 82 seat in a special runoff election on Tuesday, April 22nd, 2025.

Norwood, who has served seven terms as county supervisor, seeks to replace the seat left vacant after the passing of Rep. Charles Young Jr.

The runoff election pits Norwood against candidate Gregory Elliott. Polls will be open from 7 AM to 7 PM.

Voters are advised to check their voter registration cards as precincts may have changed. Some voters may need to vote in two separate locations if also casting a ballot in the Meridian City Council Ward 3 runoff, which is happening on the same day.

Queen City Newsfeed reports they reached out to Gregory Elliott for an interview via email but have not yet received a response.
