Meridian Museum of Art to Host Annual ARTinis Fundraiser June 18

PRESS RELEASE

MERIDIAN, Miss. — The Meridian Museum of Art invites the community to attend ARTinis, the museum’s signature annual fundraiser, on Thursday, June 18, from 6–8 p.m. at the Meridian Museum of Art, located at 628 25th Ave.

This year’s theme, “Channeling Phyllis Diller,” celebrates the legendary comedian’s bold creativity, humor, individuality, and expressive flair. The theme also commemorates Diller’s appearance at Meridian’s Temple Theatre on June 18, 1974, during a museum-hosted presentation, creating a unique connection between the museum’s history and this year’s fundraiser.

Guests will enjoy an evening of art, food, drinks, and community while supporting the museum’s exhibitions, educational programs, and outreach initiatives. The highlight of the event will be a silent auction featuring original 8×8-inch artworks donated by local and regional artists. Each piece offers a unique interpretation of this year’s theme, giving attendees the opportunity to take home original artwork while supporting the museum. The auction features a wide variety of styles and subjects, with more than 50 original works available, guests will find pieces ranging from traditional landscapes and watercolors to playful martini-themed works and imaginative portraits of Phyllis Diller.

“ARTinis is one of our favorite events of the year because it brings together artists, supporters, and community members in a fun and creative atmosphere,” said Caleb Phillips, Deputy Director of the Meridian Museum of Art. “The event not only celebrates the incredible talent of our artists but also helps ensure that the museum can continue providing meaningful exhibitions, classes, and outreach programs throughout the year.”

Tickets are $25 for museum members and $35 for non-members. Community members are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance and join the museum for this unique celebration of art, creativity, and community.

Proceeds from ARTinis help support exhibitions, youth and adult art classes, and community outreach programs that serve thousands of individuals each year.

Whether you’re an artist, a Phyllis Diller fan, or simply looking for a fun evening out, ARTinis is the perfect opportunity to experience all that the Meridian Museum of Art has to offer. Join us for a night of art, food, drinks, and community while supporting the museum’s mission and programs.
