MERIDIAN, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) — Wednesday, Oct. 28, marks National First Responders Day, a day dedicated to recognizing the men and women who respond to emergencies and work to keep communities safe.
Observed annually on Oct. 28, the day honors law enforcement officers, firefighters, emergency medical technicians, paramedics, dispatchers and other emergency personnel who serve on the front lines.
First responders play a vital role in communities across the country, often putting their own safety at risk to protect others during accidents, fires, medical emergencies and natural disasters.
In East Mississippi and West Alabama, our local first responders serve residents around the clock, providing critical assistance when it is needed most.
National First Responders Day serves as an opportunity for communities to express appreciation for their dedication, courage and commitment to public safety.
