Mississippi Power Crews Deploy to Alabama for Storm Recovery

MISSISSIPPI (Queen City Newsfeed)- A Mississippi Power storm team of approximately 175 line workers, support personnel, and contractor resources departed for Tuscaloosa on Wednesday morning to assist in restoring power following severe weather that swept across the Southeast on Tuesday.

Mississippi Power crews worked through the night to restore electricity to customers in the company’s service area after extreme winds and severe thunderstorms caused downed trees, power lines, and damaged poles. The most significant impacts were reported in the company’s Northern Division, where crews and contract workers continued operations until all customers who could receive power had their service reinstated.

With restoration efforts in Mississippi complete, the company is now deploying its storm team and additional resources to aid Alabama Power in safely restoring service to customers affected by the severe weather.

Mississippi Power emphasized its commitment to safety and efficiency as crews transition to assisting neighboring states in storm recovery efforts.
