NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Queen City Newsfeed) — Nicole Taylor, a member of the viral country music trio Taylor Red, has died following a four-year battle with breast cancer, according to her family. She was 35.
Taylor died Sept. 28, 2026, in Nashville. Her triplet sisters and bandmates, Nika Taylor and Natalie Taylor, announced her death publicly in November via their website and social media channels after taking time to grieve privately.
“Nicole, the oldest of us three sisters, will be greatly missed,” the sisters wrote. “She was our leader and our best friend. We are heartbroken, but we know she is in Heaven and will see her again.”
The identical triplets were born March 18, 1991, and grew up in the Wade-Hurley area of Mississippi. Encouraged by their mother, they began singing together at an early age and formed their first band when they were 10, performing across the region at local community events. The group originally toured under the name Red Roots starting around 2010 before rebranding as Taylor Red and relocating to Nashville.
The trio rose to national prominence in 2021 when their single “Country Money” went viral, helping them amass millions of followers across TikTok and YouTube. Taylor Red also released tracks such as “Rent Free” and “Bringing Country Back,” while appearing in major brand campaigns for companies including Sonic Drive-In, Skittles, Lipton and Crocs.
Surviving sisters Nika and Natalie Taylor stated that the family delayed the public announcement to privately process their loss and hold a private service. Nicole had previously outlived an initial three-month terminal prognosis by a year, leaving her family clinging to hope for a full recovery.
Funeral arrangements were held privately.
