MERIDIAN, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) — Meridian’s Pet Mayor Voting Kicks Off – Cast Your Vote Now!
The race to crown Meridian’s next Pet Mayor has officially begun, and now the community can make a difference. With 23 local pets in the running, the competition is fierce. Therefore, every vote matters, and residents are encouraged to explore the candidates, read about their “platforms,” and support their favorite furry leaders.
This contest is more than just fun. In fact, it is a fundraiser with a real impact. Every dollar raised directly supports the community. Specifically, 90 percent goes to Downtown Meridian Design Projects, including murals, landscaping, and other improvements that keep the heart of the city vibrant. Meanwhile, 10 percent helps the City of Meridian Animal Control Center care for and rehome animals in need.
How Voting Works
Voting is simple and effective:
-
Every $1 donated equals 1 vote for your chosen pet.
-
Additionally, the more you donate, the higher your favorite’s vote count grows.
-
Furthermore, encouraging friends, family, and neighbors to vote increases your pet’s chances of winning.
Voting runs now through 5:00 p.m. on March 4. So act quickly and make your voice heard.
What’s at Stake
The winning pet will serve as the honorary Pet Mayor of Downtown Meridian. Consequently, the pet will appear at local events, community celebrations, and special initiatives. Moreover, the campaign draws attention to both downtown improvements and local animal welfare programs. In other words, it combines civic engagement with meaningful impact.
