JACKSON – The University of Mississippi Medical Center said Wednesday it is making “significant progress” in responding to a cyberattack and restoring systems, while continuing to cancel regularly scheduled clinic appointments and elective procedures through Friday.
In a Feb. 25 update, UMMC said all hospitals and emergency departments in Jackson, Madison County, Holmes County and Grenada remain open.
UMMC said regularly scheduled clinic appointments and elective procedures will be canceled through Friday, with canceled appointments to be rescheduled.
Patients with time-sensitive needs are encouraged to call the automated UMMC Triage Line at 601-815-0000. UMMC said patients who contact the triage line and require urgent care will be contacted directly to schedule a clinic visit from Wednesday through Friday.
Hospital officials said they are hopeful elective procedures and regular clinic operations could resume as early as Monday, though they said the timeline should become clearer over the next couple of days.
