MERIDIAN, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – Meridian’s popular downtown block party series, Full Moon on 5th, returns this week with its first event of 2026.
The outdoor celebration is set for Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. along 5th Street in downtown Meridian. Organizers describe the event as the city’s signature block party, drawing residents and visitors for live music and community fellowship.
Headlining the March event is Nashville-based duo June & Giles, known for a vintage-inspired sound that blends blues, soul and Southern rock influences. The group has drawn comparisons to acts such as The Tedeschi Trucks Band, The Allman Brothers Band, Little Feat and Lake Street Dive.
Full Moon on 5th events typically transform a couple blocks of downtown into a pedestrian-friendly space featuring live entertainment and local engagement.
Friday’s event marks the first of the 2026 season, with additional gatherings expected throughout the year.
