LAUDERDALE COUNTY, Miss. (AP) — The Lauderdale County Road & Bridge Department is advising motorists of upcoming traffic delays as Phase 1 of Project No. SAP-38(13)S begins this week on Centerhill Martin Road.

According to county officials, Chris Albritton Construction Company will begin mobilizing equipment and installing traffic control signage on Wednesday, June 10. Asphalt milling operations are scheduled to begin Thursday, June 11, with base course installation following immediately behind the milling work.

The project will require one-lane traffic only on Centerhill Martin Road. Traffic will be controlled by mobile traffic signals and flaggers.

Officials said the milling and base course phase is expected to take approximately five to seven working days, weather permitting.

While the work is part of a larger road improvement project, county officials noted this is the only phase currently expected to require one-lane traffic.

Motorists are encouraged to slow down, follow all traffic control devices and allow extra travel time when traveling through the work zone. County officials thanked residents for their patience and cooperation as improvements continue on Lauderdale County roads.
