WE’RE HIRING: NEWS DIRECTOR
Digio Strategies and Queen City Newsfeed are looking for a motivated, creative and community-minded News Director to join our Meridian team.
This position plays a key role in Queen City Newsfeed’s daily local news coverage, helping tell the stories that matter to communities across East Mississippi and West Alabama.
NEWS DIRECTOR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Finding, developing and covering local news stories
- Writing news articles for QueenCityNewsfeed.com and social media
- Conducting interviews with local officials, businesses and community leaders
- Covering breaking news, community events and press conferences
- Creating photos, video and other digital content for social media
- Building relationships with local agencies, organizations and community partners
- Helping manage the daily editorial direction and content of Queen City Newsfeed
- Producing timely, accurate and engaging local news content across multiple platforms
Strong writing, communication, social media and organizational skills are important. Experience in journalism, broadcasting or digital media is preferred, but not required.
We’re looking for someone who knows the community, enjoys meeting people, is comfortable asking questions and can work in a fast-paced environment where every day is different.
