UPDATE: Parolee who escaped from Madison County Community Work Center in custody

MADISON COUNTY, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed)  — A parolee who escaped from the Madison County Community Work Center Sunday morning is now in custody, according to the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

MDOC announced at 8:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 28, that 38-year-old Branden Young had been taken into custody.

Young, who is on parole for felony DUI, had been assigned earlier this month to the technical violation center at the community work center after violating the terms of his parole.

Authorities said Young fled the technical violation center Sunday wearing a white T-shirt and orange shorts and ran toward Highway 51.

MDOC previously said Young would face an escape charge.
