MERIDIAN, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – The Meridian Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred at the Village Apartments in the 2000 block of Mosby Road on Wednesday night. Officers responded to a call at approximately 8:50 p.m. and discovered a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound.
Acting Captain Dareall Thompson confirmed that the victim was promptly transported to a local hospital, where he is currently in stable condition.
Investigators have identified a person of interest in connection with the shooting and are in the process of conducting interviews with witnesses. Thompson indicated that charges are expected to be filed following the completion of these interviews.
According to Thompson, the victim was involved in a physical altercation with another male shortly before the shooting took place.
