JACKSON- Mississippi Blood Services is reporting an urgent need for several blood types and is encouraging eligible donors to give as soon as possible.
The organization said O-negative, O-positive, B-negative and B-positive blood types are especially needed to help meet current demand.
Mississippi Blood Services operates donation centers in Flowood, Cleveland and Oxford. The Flowood center is located at 115 Tree St., the Cleveland center at 609 North Davis Ave., Suite 101B, and the Oxford center at 2627 West Oxford Loop, Suite C.
Officials said walk-ins are welcome at all locations. Donors are asked to bring a photo ID and are encouraged to eat well and stay hydrated before donating.
Mississippi Blood Services said blood donations are critical to supporting hospitals and patients across the state.
