PHILADELPHIA, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed), The Neshoba County Sheriff’s Office says investigators recovered property stolen in two separate incidents, and they credit the Choctaw Police Department with helping them find it.
The sheriff’s office shared the update Tuesday on its mobile app.
Two Thefts in Three Days
On October 1, someone reported a black 2018 Chevrolet Equinox stolen from the Pendleton Square Apartments. Two days later, on October 3, a resident on Road 2434 reported a burglary at a shed on the property.
Investigators with the sheriff’s office worked both cases. As a result, they developed information that pointed them to a residence on the Choctaw Reservation in Newton County.
Property Found Behind Mills Road Home
Choctaw police officers then joined Neshoba County deputies to check the area. Together, they found the stolen SUV and other items from the shed burglary abandoned behind a residence on Mills Road.
Deputies have since returned all of the recovered property to its owners, according to the sheriff’s office.
Investigation Still Active
However, the case is not closed. The sheriff’s office has not announced any arrests, and investigators are still working to identify the people responsible.
Anyone with information about either crime should call East Mississippi Crime Stoppers at 1-855-485-8477. Callers can remain anonymous.
