MERIDIAN, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – A Monday morning warrant-serving operation at the Landmark Apartment Complex led to a standoff, prompting a significant response from multiple law enforcement agencies.
According to Acting Captain Dareall Thompson, the altercation escalated when the suspect fired multiple shots during the incident. Fortunately, no officers were struck by the gunfire.
The Meridian Police Department, Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department, MPD SWAT Team, METRO, and Meridian Fire Department were all on the scene, working together to apprehend the suspect.
As the standoff continued, a drone was deployed to provide an aerial view of the area, assisting officers with their response. Authorities have not yet provided further details regarding the suspect’s identity; However, the suspect is confirmed to be in custody.
