LAUDERDALE COUNTY, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – The Lost Gap Volunteer Fire Department hosted its inaugural Community Day fundraiser this past Saturday to raise funds for new gear, fire truck supplies, and other essential equipment. This event replaced the department’s traditional Boston Butt cook-off this year, offering a fresh approach to supporting local firefighters.
Wayne Roberts, an engineer with the fire department, shared details about the fundraiser, which aims to ensure the department has the necessary resources to continue serving the community effectively. The event also provided an opportunity for residents to come together and show their support for the hardworking firefighters.
In addition to the fundraiser, Roberts reminded the community that the fire department holds monthly meetings every first Monday at 7 p.m. at the firehouse. Those interested in supporting the department or getting involved can attend these meetings to learn more and contribute.
