MERIDIAN, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – Locals and visitors gathered Thursday evening at The Mississippi Arts + Entertainment Experience (The MAX) for the return of the highly anticipated Night Market, a community event celebrating local culture, food, and art.
Among the evening’s standout vendors was Patricia Bryant, owner of Unique Treasures, who drew crowds with her homemade jams, pepper sauces, and baked goods. Bryant, who has been a familiar face at local markets for years, offered a range of preserves including blackberry jam, apple butter, and spicy condiments.
“The peppers you see in those old liquor bottles don’t contain alcohol — it’s just part of the rustic presentation,” Bryant said, noting the display’s popularity with customers. She can be found regularly at the Meridian Farmers Market, held the first Saturday of each month at Singing Brakeman Park from 8 a.m. to noon.
The Night Market, which ran from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., featured live music, children’s activities, food trucks, and booths from regional artists and farmers. Admission was free.
Organizers said the event aims to highlight Meridian’s creative community and support local entrepreneurs. Thursday’s market drew a steady crowd throughout the evening despite warm temperatures, with many attendees staying to enjoy the full experience of music, food, and shopping.
