MERIDIAN, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – Meridian High School’s Ayana Walker officially signed to continue her academic and athletic career at Meridian Community College during a ceremony held Wednesday, May 21, at the school’s Multipurpose Building.
Walker, a standout member of the MHS Track and Field team, will compete for the MCC Lady Eagles beginning this fall. She plans to run in the 800-meter, 4×800-meter relay, mile, and 3200-meter events.
Despite receiving multiple offers, Walker chose MCC, citing its proximity to home and overall fit as key reasons for her decision.
Walker’s signing marks another achievement for the Meridian High Track and Field program, and school officials praised her contributions and commitment to excellence both on and off the track.
