31st Annual Fall Classic Kicks Off at Whynot Motorsports Park

The 31st Annual Fall Classic presented by Coors Light is underway at Whynot Motorsports Park, drawing racers and fans from across the region for a weekend of high-speed action.

The two-day event began Friday evening with qualifying and heat races for several divisions, including Super Late Models, Crate Late Models, Street Stocks, Open Wheel Modifieds, Factory Stocks and 602 Crate Late Models. Gates opened Friday afternoon as crews prepared for one of the most anticipated racing weekends of the year.

Race Promoter Charles Thrash said this year’s Fall Classic continues a long-standing tradition of bringing top drivers and local talent together at the Meridian dirt track. Among those returning to compete is Champion Racer Chris McElhenney of Decatur, Mississippi, who spoke with Queen City Newsfeed about the intensity and community spirit that define the annual event.

Saturday’s schedule includes B-Main “last chance” races followed by feature events in all divisions, with gates opening at noon and racing set to begin after a 4:30 p.m. drivers meeting and hot laps.

Admission for the weekend is $25 for adults and $10 for children ages 6 to 10 in the grandstands. Pit entrance is $40 for adults and $20 for children ages 6 to 10. Children 5 and under are admitted free in both areas.

Whynot Motorsports Park is located at 4680 Old Highway 19 SE in Meridian, Mississippi. More information is available by contacting race officials at 601-644-3010.
