Today we share a beautiful look back at the Memorial Service of Christian Burial for Donna Jill Johnson, held Monday at St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Donna Jill served the people of Lauderdale County for more than 32 years as Circuit Clerk — the first Republican ever elected to that position in Mississippi. But beyond her title, she was known for her humor, her faith, her love for animals, and her deep devotion to Meridian.
“SHE LOVED MERIDIAN AND THE PEOPLE OF MERIDIAN.”
Family, friends, elected officials and members of the community filled the church to honor her life, her leadership, and the countless lives she touched.
While the audio in this footage is limited, the images reflect the beauty, reverence and love that surrounded her farewell.
Thank you to WTOK for providing the footage.
From all of us at Queen City Newsfeed, we continue to keep the Johnson family and loved ones in our thoughts and prayers.
