MERIDIAN, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – The City of Meridian will host its annual Easter Egg Hunt with two community events scheduled for early April, offering thousands of eggs, prizes and family-friendly activities.
The first hunt will take place Friday, April 3, at Velma Young Park beginning at 10 a.m. A second event is set for Sunday, April 5, at Highland Park starting at 3 p.m.
City officials said a total of 4,000 eggs will be scattered across both events, with participants having the chance to win special golden egg prizes. In addition to the egg hunts, attendees can enjoy candy, music and bounce houses.
The event is open to children in age groups 3-4, 5-7 and 8-10, and all families in the community are invited to attend.
In the event of inclement weather, activities will be moved indoors to the Velma Young Community Center gym.
Organizers encourage residents to arrive early and take part in what has become a seasonal tradition for Meridian families.
