Tradition highlights “Queen City” resources, nonprofits and schools, with two days left at fairgrounds
MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) – Meridian Day was held at the Neshoba County Fair, continuing a tradition that’s been celebrated for more than 20 years.
The day gives resources, nonprofits, schools and entertainment venues a chance to share what Meridian has to offer.
Meridian Community College President Dr. Tom Huebner and Meridian Mayor Percy Bland spoke about the direction they believe the city is moving and how they are working together to continue making positive changes.
“I think we use the word momentum, there are just a lot of positive things happening,” Huebner said. “We are being responsive to our community and we’re doing things that every community needs to be successful.”
Meridian Main Street Director Matt Schanrock encouraged people to come out for the fair experience.
“One thing that we forget to talk about is how much fun it is,” Schanrock said.
Organizers said there are still two more days before the fairgrounds close until 2027.
